How Yoga benefits the body, mind and spirit
Yoga can be a wonderful compliment to other vigorous activities like running, cycling or any other sport in which you create tension in the muscles and stress on the joints or it can be a stand- alone practice for health. Its roots are ancient and yet the benefits of breathing deeply, stilling the body and mind, and stretching the muscles are more relevant than ever in our fast paced, competitive, modern world. When we take the time to slow our breathing and focus inward we can become aware of our bodies in a new way. There are many different types of yoga classes available and you are encouraged to try different classes and teachers to find the ones that most deeply resonate with you.
Practicing Yoga on a regular basis can increase your flexibility, improve posture, reduce aches and pains, lower cortisol levels, decrease blood pressure, boost the immune system and help to create deeper sleep. Read through the class descriptions to see which class might best suit your needs. If you have any questions, feel free to contact us and we’ll do our best to help you find a class that works for you. Private yoga classes are also available. Check our class descriptions to find a yoga class you’d like to try and check our schedule of classes to find out where and when they are.
